Emma is a Clinical Research Coordinator in the PAIR Center where she supports the PCORI funded smoking cessation clinical trial Healthy Lungs and the BETTER Center Project 1. She is a founding member of the Joint Research Practices Working Group (JRP), chartered by PAIR and the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics (CHIBE) to develop and disseminate best practices and guidelines for the conduct of equitable research. As part of the JRP, she has worked on the Readability Guide, Participant-Centeredness Guide, and workshops for PAIR and CHIBE staff and faculty.
Prior to PAIR, Emma worked as a research assistant for Penn’s Center for Mental Health and as a program coordinator for the Netter Center for Community Partnerships. She obtained a B.A. in Health and Societies, an interdisciplinary study in history, sociology, and anthropology, from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021. She is an alumna of the Summer Undergraduate Mentored Research Program (SUMR) through the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, through which she started her career in health services research.
In her free time, Emma sings with ANNA Crusis Feminist Choir in Philadelphia, whose mission is to inspire social change and build community through the power of music.
