About

Sarah Hill is the Regional Vice President of Mission Integration for Christus Santa Rosa Health System & The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Texas. Prior to joining CHRISTUS in 2020, she started her career with the corporate office of Ascension Health and most recently was the Chief Mission Integration Officer and Vice President of Palliative Care for Ascension Medical Group.

Dr. Hill is also currently the Board Chair of the Health Collaborative and a Catholic Charities of San Antonio Health Care Advisory board member. She is also a member of the University of Pennsylvania’s Palliative and Advanced Illness Research (PAIR) Center’s External Advisory Board. Previously, she was a member of the Technical Expert Clinical User Patient Panel (TECUPP) and Measure Specification Panel (MSP) for the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine’s (AAHPM) CMS MACRA Measure Development project. She was also in the past a member of the National Quality Forum’s palliative and end of life care metrics committee and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Roundtable on End of Life Care.   

In 2014, Dr. Hill received the Tomorrow’s Leader award from the Catholic Health Association and currently sits on their Palliative Care Joint Committee.

Dr. Hill has delivered presentations including keynote addresses on palliative care at various national and regional events including the Catholic Health Association Annual Assembly, the Center to Advance Palliative Care annual assembly, the American Society on Aging, and the Supportive Care Congress. She has also been a speaker, guest lecturer and guest panelist on bioethics and has been a facilitator for ethics conferences.

Dr. Hill received her Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology/biochemistry and a minor in theology from Marquette University in 2003. She also received the Archbishop Desmond Tutu Emerging Leader Award in 2003 from the Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation. She received her Master’s Degree in Health Care Ethics and Health Communication from the University of West Florida in 2006. Dr. Hill received her PhD in Health Care Ethics from Saint Louis University in 2016.
