About

Raquel Jones is a Clinical Research Coordinator at the PAIR Center supporting the COMPASS-PC trial.

Raquel is a current Master of Public Health student at Penn, with interest in marginalized populations, rural health and environmental justice. Raquel graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in December 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Science. During her undergraduate years, she worked on health equity projects related to acral melanoma and HIV testing in African American couples. Her undergraduate capstone investigated biomarkers of ovarian cancer, and disparities within various populations.

With a passion for improving the lives of marginalized communities, Raquel developed a deep interest in research, leading her to work as a Research Coordinator at the Penn Medicine Center for Health Equity Advancement. Here, she worked on an initiative to best train scientists to work within health systems and improve health outcomes.

In her personal time, Raquel enjoys going to the gym, baking sweet treats, attending concerts and scrapbooking. In the spring, you can catch her walking the Schuylkill River trail on a nice day!
