Hellen Ndungu-Thara

Hellen is a seasoned Senior Grants Manager who joined the Center in September 2021. She is part of the Business Office team that oversees finances and grants administration. With a background as a Grants and Contracts Financial Administrator at the University of Pennsylvania and eight years as an Accountant at a Philadelphia nonprofit, she brings a wealth of experience in research administration and nonprofit financial management. She holds a BS in Accounting from West Chester University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania.

Beyond her career, Hellen is a dedicated gymnastics and cheer mom, immersing herself in the vibrant world of competitions. Her weekends are filled with cheers and flips as she passionately supports her daughter’s athletic pursuits.

Hellen lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia with her husband and daughter. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, the beach, and traveling.
