About

Adina Lieberman acts as the Managing Director of the BETTER Center, an AHA-funded initiative to develop and test behavioral economic interventions that surmount the barriers to clinical trial participation faced by disenfranchised racial and ethnic groups, women, persons of low socioeconomic status (SES), and others with or at risk for cardiovascular disease. She also serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), working closely with Beth Cooney-Zingman to operationalize DEI programming across the PAIR Center.

Adina has been joyfully employed by Penn since 2004. She spent her first ten years working in the field of human subject research oversight and compliance at the University of Pennsylvania. When she earned her Master of Public Health from Penn, Adina pivoted into a career of providing senior-level support to research operations and project management. In partnership with Dr. Rinad Beidas, she has operationalized implementation research in a variety of healthcare and community settings. Prior to joining the PAIR Center, she served as the Managing Director of the Penn Medicine Nudge Unit.

Since 2012, Adina has actively volunteered with organizations supporting under-resourced communities of Philadelphia. She has directed a variety of health and wellness programs (e.g. ESOL, Youth Art Class, Vinyasa Yoga) for Latinx undocumented immigrants and has served as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for a non-profit organization to promote resiliency in young people though educational enrichment and engagement with the arts and Latinx cultures. She has conducted evaluations of HIAS PA immigrant services and Puentes de Salud behavioral and mental health services and has attended countless quinceañeras, bodas, and fiestas.

She lives a happy chaotic life in South Philly with her tall and tired husband Patrick and their two rascally kids.
