Dr. Scott Halpern presented at the Johns Hopkins Symposium on Digital and Community Engaged Approaches to Support Research Recruitment on Wednesday, September 11.

This two-day, in-person event provided an educational platform for research professionals nationwide to exchange successful tools, strategies, and insights, with the goal to enhance sustainable methodologies that increase participation in clinical and translational research.

Dr. Halpern participated in the Keynote Discourse: Innovations in Digital Recruitment, presenting on the Healthy Lungs trial and the BETTER Center. Other panelists included Stephen Juraschek, MD, PhD from Harvard Medical School and Cheryl Himmelfarb, PhD, RN from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Dr. Himmelfarb’s study CONNECT and the BETTER Center are both part of the American Heart Association Strategically Focused Research Network on the Science of Diversity in Clinical Trials (AHA SFRN).
