Drs. Scott Halpern and Joanna Hart presented at a Congressional briefing on rural health organized by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) on Monday, September 9.

This event was planned in partnership with two bipartisan caucuses–the Rural Caucus and the Rural Health Caucus–and featured studies focused on smoking cessation, weight management, and patient engagement in research.

Drs. Halpern and Hart presented on the Healthy Lungs trial, which targets patients from underserved groups, including rural residents. Other speakers included Christie Befort, PhD from the University of Kansas, Eric Moody, PhD, MA, from University of Wyoming, and Sarah Ruiz from PCORI.
