About

JoAnne Reifsnyder PhD, MSN, MBA, RN, FAAN has held executive and leadership roles in skilled nursing, hospice, and hospice-related medication management while simultaneously teaching graduate level courses in palliative and end of life care. Dr. Reifsnyder created and tested an early SNF to home care transitions model in 2010, and as Chief Nursing Officer for the largest provider in the SNF space, designed the care delivery model for a successful, SNF self-convened Model 3 Bundled Payment initiative. Her career clinical expertise is serious illness care for older adults. She is currently a professor of nursing leadership and management at the University of Maryland School of Nursing where she teaches organizational theory and health care finance to nursing graduate students. She has an active management consulting and executive coaching practice, through which she works with a range of organizations and individuals to develop and lead serious illness care, age-friendly care, and complex chronic illness management services. She is a frequent speaker on leadership topics, has authored many peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and is a co-author and editor of three textbooks.
