About

Jim joined the PAIR Center in 2024 to work with Dr. Joanna Hart’s team on SERENE, a clinical trial that investigates why Coping Skills Training is effective for reducing depression in people with COPD. Previously, Jim held roles as a counselor in a substance use program and a psychotherapist in a group practice. He earned his Master of Social Work from Temple University’s College of Public Health.

In addition to his employment in the mental health field, Jim is a practicing artist and writer. He participated in the Independent Study Program at the Whitney Museum of American Art and has taught at local institutions such as Moore College of Art and Design and Fleisher Art Memorial.
