Eric Underwood joined the PAIR Center in 2022 as a Clinical Research Coordinator on Dr. Joanna Hart’s team. Eric is the behavioral health interventionist for SERENE, a clinical trial that investigates why Coping Skills Training is effective for reducing depression in people with COPD.
Before joining the PAIR Center, Eric taught 9th and 10th grade science in Seattle at an alternative public high school for high-needs students and served as the Gender & Sexuality Alliance Club mentor and academic advisor. Before his Master’s in Education at the University of Washington, Eric graduated from Whitman College with a BA in Astrophysics and did research on the size and shape of near-Earth asteroids, globular cluster isochrones, and astrophotography.
Eric enjoys playing music, rock climbing, and sci-fi.
