PAIR Center Day of Service: Mastery Charter School Shoemaker

March 3, 2023

Excerpt

We are thrilled to share about the PAIR Center’s Day of Service at Mastery Charter School – Shoemaker Campus. To wrap up PAIR’s Black History Month 2023 program Saluting Black Heroes in Health Equity, members of the PAIR Center volunteered at the school to assist with organizing the space used to store school supplies.

Mastery is a non-profit network of 24 public charter, turnaround, and renaissance Title 1 schools in Philadelphia and Camden, NJ, serving over 14,000 students in grades K-12. Over 90% of Mastery students are living in poverty by federal standards and over 95% identify as Black and/or Latinx/Hispanic.

Mastery partners with our core faculty member, Dr. Joanna Hart, on her caregiving youth research projects. We are especially grateful to Dr. Hart for making this connection on our behalf.
