Congratulations to Michael Harhay on his promotion to Associate Professor!

It is with great pride and pleasure that we share the news that Dr. Michael Harhay has been promoted to Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Medicine with Tenure.

Dr. Harhay joined the PAIR Center in 2012 as a PhD student, later completing a productive post-doctoral fellowship and earning the highly competitive K99/R00 award from National Institutes of Health. He formally joined the faculty in Epidemiology (primary), Medicine (secondary), and as Core Faculty in the PAIR Center in 2020.

Since then, Dr. Harhay has published more than 200 scholarly manuscripts, been PI or key methodological lead on numerous grants, successfully mentored post-doctoral fellows of his own to faculty positions, and earned numerous awards. Notable accomplishments include: the Marjorie Bowman Award for outstanding health evaluation scholarship, given annually to one Perelman School of Medicine faculty member at the Assistant Professor level; the American Thoracic Society’s (ATS) Early Career Achievement Award through the Critical Care Assembly; the Early Career Achievement Award from the American College of Epidemiology; and most recently the Jo Rae Wright Award for Outstanding Science, also from the ATS.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Harhay on this richly deserved promotion.
