Congratulations to Chelsea Brown for receiving a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health!
Doctoral candidate Chelsea Brown has received an NIH F31 Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award. This competitive individual predoctoral fellowship supports health-related dissertation research. Chelsea’s advisors and NIH Co-Sponsors are Drs. Kate Courtright, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Core Faculty at the PAIR Center, and Tamara Cadet, Associate Professor in the School of Social Policy and Practice and Affiliated Faculty at the PAIR Center.
Chelsea Brown received this award for her project, “A mixed methods pre-implementation study of a trauma-informed care intervention for hospitalized patients with serious illness.” This work will examine health care drivers of physical, psychological, and social harm for people with serious illness and explore the feasibility of a novel trauma-informed palliative care intervention.
