About

As an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at University Rochester Medical Center, I serve as the Associate Director as the MICU as well as Associate Program Director for the Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Fellowship.  My inpatient focus is in critical care medicine, with a particular interest in the acute respiratory distress syndrome, critical illness during pregnancy, and the integration of primary palliative care into the care of seriously ill adults. On the outpatient side, I specialize in the care of patients with emphysema, COPD, and other smoking-related lung diseases. I am particularly interested in symptom management, prognostication, and the role of fear and anxiety in patients with advanced lung disease.
