About
Catherine (Katie) Auriemma, MD, MSHP is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on improving the value of serious illness care by better aligning interventions with the values and preferences of patients and their families. She additionally works to develop and validate novel patient- and family-centered outcomes for studies of critically and seriously ill populations.
Dr. Auriemma received her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco, where she subsequently served as Chief Resident at Moffitt-Long Hospital. She completed her fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Pennsylvania where she also received her Master’s degree in Health Policy Research.
Dr. Auriemma cares for patients in the medical intensive care unit at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She also maintains an outpatient pulmonary clinic at the Harron Lung Center and is passionate about providing longitudinal follow-up care for survivors of critical illness.
