Biography

Nick is a research assistant working under Dr. Joanna Hart. His current work is focused on the Trauma Informed Critical Care study, which examines how an individual’s past traumatic experiences can affect their relationship with the clinical care team in high-stress situations, such as when a loved one is critically ill in the ICU. He also assists with the OAISIS II project, an observational study that explores outcome expectations in COPD patients. Nick has also contributed to a systematic review with the BETTER Center, which aims to study representativeness in randomized control cardiovascular trials.

 

In his personal life, Nick is a talented cellist and performs with the Philadelphia Medical Symphony Orchestra. He also spends time teaching cello to middle school students through Play on Philly, an organization that provides music education to underserved communities in Philadelphia. Nick enjoys exploring the connections between music and medicine. He is also interested in learning and memory, neuronal plasticity, and he aspires to become a physician.

 

In his free time, Nick likes to write and stay active by engaging in physical activities such as weightlifting, running, and swimming.
