About

Maayra is a Clinical Research Coordinator at PAIR where she supports Dr. Katie Auriemma’s projects. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S in Psychology. During her time as an undergrad, she worked as a research assistant in the Personality Processes and Outcomes Laboratory where she completed her Honor’s thesis on Antisocial and Passive Aggressive Personality Disorders relative to relationship functioning. She also served as a peer mentor and tutor for an organization called Higher Achievement, an organization that aids in bridging opportunity gaps and supports middle school students enrolled in underserved academic institutions.

Maayra then completed her Master of Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Forensic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her time at PCOM, she worked on an independent study in medical education on the exposure of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice in early medical studies. She also completed her capstone on the intersectionality between Models of Forensic Psychological Evaluation and Medicolegal practice in criminal investigation.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, painting, and exploring astronomy and astrophotography with her telescope.
