About

Jennifer C. Ginestra, MD, is a fellow in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Health Policy Research and is a CHIPS Fellow in the Center for Healthcare Improvement & Patient Safety.

Dr. Ginestra received a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Plan II Honors at The University of Texas at Austin. She then received her medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. She completed her internal medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where she trained in the Global Health Equities Track.

Dr. Ginestra is interested in the organization of healthcare delivery in critical care and in optimizing the delivery of evidence-based interventions for critically ill patients. Her current research focuses on improving the quality and timeliness of early sepsis care. She is a member of the Penn Medicine Sepsis Alliance, a multidisciplinary task force dedicated to the optimization and standardization of sepsis care across the healthcare system.

Dr. Ginestra lives in Center City where she enjoys urban gardening, cooking, and yoga.
