Dr. Alana Sagin is a palliative care and hospice physician and an assistant professor of medicine at the Perlman School of Medicine. She is the course director for the medical student palliative care elective and teaches a two-week course on palliative care for medical students each year. Besides medical student education, she is involved in teaching residents and fellows various topics in palliative care. Specific areas of interest include narrative medicine and medical ethics.
Dr. Sagin completed medical school at Jefferson Medical College in 2010 and family medicine residency at the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency Program in 2013. She also completed a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in 2014. Outside of work Dr. Sagin Lives with her family in Philadelphia and enjoys gardening and hiking.
